I DID IT!!!

I write articles for eHow.com. They had a contest: write and submit a health and fitness article, and if it is featured on the home page, win $50! Well, today my article is featured on the home page! It is called "How to Save Money and Lose Weight by Going Green" by fen527. I am so happy and proud of myself! I actually did it!

Strawberries

God's greatest fruit and the reason I love summer. Their color pleases the eye and their taste pleases the palate--in ice cream, with yogurt and granola, as a smoothie, tossed in a fruit salad, sprinkled on top of frozen yogurt, drizzled over cheesecake, covered in chocolate, or fresh from the market. I don't think anyone can disagree!

One Woman's Trash

is my treasure! Monday my mother, little sister, and I went to Savers, a giant thrift store in Mesa. I found two pairs of shoes that looked like they were only worn a couple times. The miracle was that I needed new church shoes and flats, but I hadn't been able to find anything. Then with quitting my job, I couldn't afford to buy new shoes anyway. And then there they were--in my size, my style, waiting for me. The church shoes are satiny heels with a little bow on each toe. They were $5.99, but blue-tag items were on sale, so they rang up as $0.99! The flats also have a bow on each toe, but with white stitching (see picture below), and were $7.99. And, in honor of pig week, I found a pair of brand new piggy slippers for $3.99!




Yesterday, we went to Goodwill. There I found a brown skirt for $4.99 and two books: The Miracle of Forgiveness ($1.99) and How to Win Friends and Influence People ($1.49). I am definitely happy with my finds.

I actually have the pink keychain. My mother-in-law bought it for me. It oinks every time the light turns on.

Pig Week Day 1

For those of you who don't know, I LOVE pigs! I have collected pig items, figurines, and stuffed animals for as long as I can remember. So this first week of April I dedicate to cute little piggy treasures. Day 1 is kitchen gadgets.


This timer is exactly what my kitchen needs. So cute and colorful!

These corn holders make eating corn on the cob so much more fun!

Yum, I want waffles now! The front right is a pig shape.

This is totally me! The pig is a salt shaker and the scale is a pepper shaker. And I love the little piggy slippers too!
